Our Story

Nyundo Trading was created to fill a simple need: to provide the Western Cape market with a reliable, service-driven source for quality tools and trade supplies. What began with a focused range of abrasives and power tools has grown into a mega wholesaler carrying over 10,000 SKUs across tools, hardware, engineering, safety, construction and industrial supplies. Today, our strength lies in our ability to basket everything our customers need through one trusted supplier, simplifying procurement and getting the job done. But Nyundo has never positioned itself as just a product supplier — we are a service provider first. We put our customers at the centre of everything we do, serving them with pride, urgency and a genuine never-say-no attitude.

Ralph Odendaal

The Founder & Director

Ralph Odendaal, Founder and Director of Nyundo Trading, has built the business around a simple principle: serve every customer with passion, care and a commitment to finding the right solution. Growing up in Durban, Ralph was exposed to the trade industry from a young age before pursuing a successful career in motorsport, racing internationally and working with motorsport teams across the USA and Europe. This experience gave him first-hand insight into the importance of quality tooling, solvents, manufacturing and reliable supply. After returning to South Africa and relocating to Cape Town, Ralph entered the abrasives industry, where he recognised a significant gap in the market: businesses needed more than another supplier—they needed a dependable partner who understood their challenges and could solve them. From that idea, Nyundo Trading was born. What began in a modest 50 m² office and storeroom has grown under Ralph’s leadership into a 3,500 m² warehouse and manufacturing facility, evolving from serving a handful of customers to supplying some of Africa’s largest companies. Despite that growth, the philosophy Ralph founded Nyundo on remains unchanged: put the customer first, understand what they need, and find a way to deliver.
